About Meela Most people outlive their ability to drive by seven to ten years. For older adults, that often means losing their independence and relying on others for even the simplest trip out of the house. The apps the rest of us depend on, like Uber and Lyft, were not designed with them in mind, and for many they remain out of reach. Meela was built to close that gap. An older adult can call a single number, tell us where they would like to go, and we arrange the ride on their behalf. There is no app to learn, and family members can help manage rides and billing whenever they want to be involved. Rides are where we have chosen to begin, but they are not the whole of our ambition. A great deal of everyday life now sits behind apps that many older adults cannot use, and over time we intend to become a trusted concierge they can turn to for far more than transportation, reachable through a simple phone call. We are a small team based in New York, backed by tier one venture investors, and everyone here carries real responsibility for the problem we are working on. The Role We're hiring a Marketing Intern to help shape how people first discover and understand Meela. The heart of the role is social video. You will help build Meela's presence on social media from the ground up, and you will have genuine creative freedom to shape what that looks like. You won't be doing it alone. You'll work closely with our Head of Marketing and Head of Social, who will give you direction, feedback, and guidance as you go, and your work will reach a real audience quickly. If you also enjoy writing, there is room to do more. Strong writers can create articles on the questions seniors and their families are searching for, and help bring those people to Meela. This is a role for someone who wants to learn by doing. For the right person, it can grow into a full time position. What You'll Do You'll own the full process, from the first idea to the posted video, with the goal of driving views and signups. Come up with video ideas based on Meela's brand direction, with the freedom to experiment. Street interviews are one example, but ideas can come from anywhere. Film your videos, using your own phone or our camera. Edit them into short videos ready to post on TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. Produce at least 3 videos a week to start, and take it further from there. Optional: write SEO articles on the topics seniors and caregivers care about. What We're Looking For Comfortable shooting video and approaching people on camera when a format calls for it. Can edit your own video with tools like Canva, CapCut, or iMovie. Own a modern iPhone. Based in New York City and available for at least the next 6 months. Someone who likes owning an idea from start to finish and seeing it through. Genuine interest in Meela's mission. Nice to Have Strong writer who can turn out SEO articles. Experience in a startup, media, or content setting. Interest in healthcare, aging, or technology. Compensation A reliable paid stipend is your base, steady pay you can count on. On top of that, performance bonuses tied to the views and customers your content drives mean your best work is rewarded, though the stipend never depends on it. Lunch is on us on office days. We'll walk you through the full numbers early in the process. What Success Looks Like You're consistently producing videos that meet the quality bar and improve over time. Your work drives real views and brings new customers to Meela. You're reliable, take ownership, and are easy to work with. You're taking on more over time and making the role your own.
